HILES, Wis. - Victor R. Burkey, 63, of Hiles, Wis. passed away Nov. 27, 2021.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10 at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home, Crandon, Wis. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with Daniel Childers officiating.

Victor was born April 22, 1958 in Princeton to Raymond Burkey and Ruby White (Christman). He was raised by Melanie (Polson) Burkey.

Survivors include one daughter, Jessica (Megan) McKay of Appleton Wis.; a step-daughter, Laurie Chapple of Argonne Wis.; significant other, Dustlyn Leet of Cadott, Wis.; granddaughters, Jen Spake and Bailey (Ian) Chapple of Laona, Wis.; grandson, Jacob Chapple of Argonne, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Brayden McKay and Bentley McKay of Appleton, Wis., and Marley Daniels and Jaxon Chapple of Laona Wis.; and six siblings, Susan Roulston, Robert Burkey, Terry Burkey, Barb Dickens, Scott Christman and Dale Burkey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy McKay-Burkey.

In 1985, Victor moved to northern Wisconsin with his family to operate the Frontier Bar in Hiles. His family brought him the greatest joy. He worked many years in the home construction industry operating his own business known as Northland Builders. For decades, he volunteered countless hours as a volunteer fire chief for Hiles Company A. His willingness to volunteer also included being an EMT and first responder. When he wasn’t busy working and volunteering, he could be found watching old western movies especially those with John Wayne.
