MENDOTA – The Mendota varsity boys’ soccer team showed the meaning of total domination with a 12-0 thrashing of Kewanee on Sept. 27 at the MHS field.
The Trojans scored two goals in the first four minutes of the game and went on to tally eight more in the first half to take a 10-0 lead at intermission.
Joel Escatel, Emiliano Arteaga and Luis Delao had two goals apiece in the first half, while Abraham Guzman, Josue Arteaga, Jack Massey and Ivan Figueroa also got in on the scoring act.
Second-half goals went to Yahir Diaz and Cameron Shankles.
Picking up assists in the contest were Ivan Figueroa (two), Escatel (two), Emiliano Arteaga, Jose Sandoval, Juan Sandoval, Josue Arteaga and Diaz.
Joel Figueroa was in goal for the Trojans.

The Trojans hosted Rochelle on Oct. 1 and dropped a 5-1 decision.
