The wins keep coming for the Mendota varsity boys’ soccer team as it steamrolled Riverdale, 9-0, on Aug. 31 at Port Byron.
Yahir Diaz banged home three goals and Ricky Orozco added a pair to lead the attack. Single tallies went to Edgar Arteaga, Manny Trejo and Iker Landeros. The final MHS score was an own goal by Riverdale.
Alex Mandujano picked up a pair of assists for the winners, while Diaz, Josue Arteaga and Jasiel Watson also had assists.

The Trojans posted another 9-0 shutout, this time at Orion on Sept. 4.
Diaz and Watson had three goals apiece, while Josue Arteaga, Edgar Arteaga and Johnathan Cortez each had one tally.
Edgar Arteaga collected two assists. Josue Arteaga, Jose Ruiz and Cortez chipped in with one assist apiece.
Mendota upped its record to 10-0 on season, with nine of them holding the opposition scoreless.
