MENDOTA – The Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce has been selling Sweet Corn Festival 50/50 tickets for the past several months already. Have you gotten yours yet? What are you waiting for? Last year’s winner received $4,137.00!

“We want to grow to at least $10,000 in ticket sales this year,” stated Jesse Arellano, Chamber executive director. “This year we can take credit and debit cards as payment for 50/50 tickets. We hope that will make it easier for those, especially at the Festival, to get their tickets,” he continued.

The Chamber will have a brand new information booth at this year’s Festival. “It is painted yellow and green of course,” said Arellano, “and will be set up on Washington Street near its intersection of Illinois Avenue downtown in the heart of the Festival activities.”

The new booth is large enough to not only easily sell SCF 50/50 tickets, but Sweet Corn Festival T-shirts, as well. It will be manned with people to help everyone with any questions they may have.

So help the Chamber grow the 50/50 to $10,000. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The winning ticket will be drawn on Monday, Aug. 14 following the close of the 70th Annual Sweet Corn Fest.

Tickets are currently on sale at the Chamber office and at the City Clerk’s office, as well as at many Mendota businesses, which you can identify by the sign in their window, “Sweet Corn Festival 50/50 Tickets Sold Here.”
