ORLANDO, Fla. - Patricia “Pat” A. (Panneck) Sondgeroth, 61, of Orlando,Fla., formerly of Peru, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 7 at Advent Health in Orlando. 

Services and burial will be held in Illinois at a later date. Per family wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Pat was born Sept. 21, 1959 in Peru to John and Nina (Arnold) Panneck. She married Gregory Sondgeroth of Mendota on Aug. 12, 1989.

Survivors left to cherish her memories include her husband, Gregory; three children: Kelsey (Jacob) Thompson of Davenport, Iowa, Haley Sondgeroth of Orlando and Dominic Sondgeroth of Orlando; her fur-child, Arlo of Orlando; two sisters, Mary Panneck of Peru and Elizabeth Holcomb of Champaign; and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dogs, Michelle, Casper and Rollie.

Pat attended Peru Catholic schools for early education, followed by St. Bede Academy (class of ‘77) and IVCC, where she was extremely active in theatre and drama. During a production of “The Wizard of Oz,” she met her future husband, Gregory. She worked as a COA for the Gailey Eye Clinic in Peru for many years. Afterwards, she worked as a personal secretary for Dick Janko, also in Peru. Along the way she wore many hats, working to help serve those around her in many different capacities. She loved to travel and be in the warmth and sunshine. Her favorite place to go was Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and she made countless memories there with family and friends. She loved bowling, golfing, exploring Florida’s theme parks and cheering on and supporting her children and all those she loved like family in all of their endeavors. She used her humor and optimism to bring smiles and laughter to everyone she met and to make the best of every situation, no matter how difficult it seemed. She was excited and looking forward to becoming a grandmother this year, with her first grandchild due this July.
