Operation Elf Action ready to assist families during Christmas

MENDOTA – Operation Elf Action, formerly Mendota Toys for Tots, under the guidance of the Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, is asking that if your family or if you know of a family that could use some help this Christmas with toys and/or clothing for children ages 1 to 13 years old.

To qualify, the family must live within the Mendota School District, which means their school age children attend the Mendota schools or are eligible to attend Mendota schools. Pre-school children from the Mendota area are also eligible. The family must have a State of Illinois Medicaid Card that lists the children and a parent must register in person at the Youth Service Bureau office at 728 Main St., Mendota. Registration will take place Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 14 through Nov. 1.

You will need the following items: A copy of children’s State of Illinois Medicaid Card and a proof of residence in Mendota School District (state license, ID, or bill).
