MENDOTA - Nathan Milton Eich, 72, of the Illinois Veteran’s Home, LaSalle, formerly of Mendota, passed away Jan. 27, 2021 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.

There will be no visitation or services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Union Cemetery, West Brooklyn with Rev. Jeff Schlesinger officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota assisted with the arrangements.

Nathan was born April 3, 1948 in Mendota to Clarence and Dorothy (Fassig) Eich.

Survivors include one sister, Marla (Roger) Sommerville of Peru and one nephew, Jacob Wojciechowski of Dalzell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy Childers and Melody Wojciechowski.

Nathan was a 1966 graduate of Mendota High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972 during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Compton.
