GENESEO – Logan Brandner and Andrew Stamberger of the Mendota High School boys’ tennis team qualified for the IHSA State Tournament after the doubles team competed in the Geneseo Sectional on June 4-5.
They won their first match 6-0, 6-0 over Daniel Pettis and Dantre Wilson of Galesburg and then the duo defeated Owen Grot and Alex Ullrich of Dixon 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 to qualify for state.
The state tournament will be held June 10-12 at various locations throughout the Chicago suburbs.
