KENOSHA, Wis. – The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their selections for the NCAA Division III All-Region honorees, with Carthage College's Aaron Austin, Sarah Schmidt, Tyrani White, and Elizabeth Willis making the list. Willis is a senior from Mendota.
For the men, Austin was named all-Midwest Region in the shot put. The junior owns a mark of 17.17 meters, a Carthage record, which gave him the conference title on Feb. 29 and sets him ninth in the country.
On the women's side, Tyrani White was tabbed all-region in the long jump after setting a career mark in the event at the conference championships. Her leap of 5.66 meters places her 14th in the country. Sarah Schmidt and Elizabeth Willis were each named all-Midwest Region in both the shot put and weight throw after their impressive indoor seasons. Schmidt ranks sixth in the shot put with a mark of 14.06 meters and third in the weight throw at 19.20 meters, while Willis sits in fourth in the shot at 14.26 meters and second in the weight throw with a career-best toss of 19.28 meters.
