Rock Falls pulled away from Mendota in the second quarter and posted a 47-15 win in freshman-sophomore girls’ basketball action on Feb. 17 at Rock Falls.
The Lady Trojans hung tough through one quarter, trailing by just an 8-6 count, but the home team heated up in the second period and doubled up Mendota at halftime, 22-11. Then in the second half, the Lady Trojans had just two baskets.
Katie Jenner led Mendota with five points and Naitzy Garcia added four.

Winnebago handled the Lady Trojans, 41-9, on Feb. 19 at the MHS gym.
Mendota was down 8-0 after the first period and then tallied only two second-quarter points compared to 13 for the visitors.
Garcia led Mendota with five points.

Mendota had a better time putting the ball in the hoop, but still dropped a 46-31 decision to Genoa-Kingston on Feb. 20 at the MHS gym.
The Lady Trojans were down 25-9 at the half and 35-17 after three, but then their 14-point fourth quarter was nearly as many points as they had in the first three periods combined.
Emily Stewart connected on three shots from beyond the three-point arc and finished with a team-high 11 points for Mendota. Jenner helped out with eight markers.

Dixon took out Mendota, 58-15, on Feb. 22 at the MHS gym.
The Lady Trojans were down 40-2 at halftime.
Jenner and Garcia had nine and six points, respectively, for Mendota.
