SUBLETTE - Korey Davis, 41, of Sublette, passed away Dec. 29, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center, Rockford.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. Cremation rites will follow and public burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10 at St. Paul Evangelical Cemetery, 33434 Old Chicago Road, LaMoille with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating.

Korey was born Dec. 18, 1980 in Mendota to Ledford and Peggy (Mudge) Davis. He married Courtney Thompson.

Survivors include his mother, Peggy (Hank) DeSandre of Gulfport, Miss.; his wife, Courtney of Sublette; two sons, Bricen Davis and Jace Davis, both of Sublette; one daughter, Myla Davis of Sublette; one brother, Kelly (Amy) Davis of Edelstein; one sister, Kristy Davis of Harvey, N.D.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Korey was a 1999 graduate of Mendota High School. He worked for UPS Aviation in Rockford. He also farmed and raised chickens, hogs and cattle. He was an avid pilot and loved to fly his planes. He enjoyed riding his ATV and motorcycles. He was an excellent mechanic and was the world’s best “wheeler dealer.” Above all, Korey was a devoted family man.
