MENDOTA - Karon Lee (Devine) Baker, 70, of Mendota, formerly of Winfield, passed away Dec. 15, 2020 at Heritage Health, Mendota due to complications of COPD.

Due to the pandemic, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will take place at a future date. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.

Karon was born Dec. 31, 1949 in Geneva, to John and Dorothy (Pennington) Devine. She married Patrick J. Baker. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer (Cleveland) Lentz; two sisters, Patricia (Devine) Stuart and Christine K. Devine; one brother, Ted A. Devine; two grandsons, Nick Gast and Nolan J. Lentz; one granddaughter, Nicole (Kelm) Lozmack; a great-granddaughter, Charlotte S. Lozmack; two step daughters, Erin Baker and Shannon Baker; and three step grandchildren, Gianni, Draco and Fianna Figueroa.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her father; her mother, Dorothy Burton; her stepfather, Leo Burton; and two brothers, John E. Devin and Charles L. Devine.

Karon cherished her grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed watching them open gifts during the holiday season. She had a passion for crafting and loved to gift her creations to those she loved, as well as a love for baking and cooking.

Memorials may be directed to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue or OSF Hospice, Ottawa.
