OREGON – The Mendota Lady Trojans ventured outdoors for the first time this season when they competed in the Oregon Five-Team Meet on March 22.
Mendota scored 71 points to finish third in the team standings. Oregon took the top spot with 126 points, while Forreston/Polo placed second with 111 points. Ashton-Franklin Center (28) and Indian Creek (12) also participated.
The Lady Trojans seized first-place honors in four events. Individual firsts went to Morgan Gonda in the 200-meter dash (30.11), Lydia Willis in the discus (110-2.5) and Lauren Schimmer in the high jump (4-4).
Also breaking the tape for Mendota was the 400-meter relay team in a time of 56.37. Runners were Teghan Tillman, Devin Wade, Abby Phalen and Gonda.
