LADD - Gary D. Bankes, 82, of Ladd, passed away Aug. 26, 2021 at his home.

Private graveside services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Troy Grove Cemetery with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is assisting the family.

Gary was born June 12, 1939 in Prairie Center to Gordon and Queenie (Dock) Bankes.

Survivors include one son, Brian (Brenda) Bankes of Ladd; one granddaughter, Ashley of Ladd; and a great-granddaughter, Izabella of Ladd.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marlene.

Gary was a 1957 graduate of Mendota High School and served in the National Guard. He worked as a machine operator for Caterpillar in Aurora for over 35 years. He loved cooked and golfing.
