AVON, Ind. - Franklin D. Etheridge, 88, of Avon, Ind. and formerly of Mendota, passed away Dec. 27, 2021.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Ken Gibson officiating. Burial will be at Restland Memorial Gardens, Mendota. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.

Frank was born April 27, 1933 in Mendota to Cashius and Hildagard Etheridge.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan; one son, Michael; a daughter-in-law, Joyce; and one grandson, Robert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Daniel; and his wife, Lois.

Frank served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in France during the Korean War. He liked sports and was a fast pitch softball pitcher in local leagues and in the Army. He worked for over 30 years at Black Brothers in Mendota. Prior to that, he had farmed and worked as a mechanic at the Oliver tractor dealership. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mendota.
