EARLVILLE - Everett W. Olmstead, 83, of Earlville passed away April 18, 2020 and Wilma J. Olmstead, 81, passed away May 14, 2021 at their residence surrounded by their loving family.

Visitation for Everett and Wilma will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 29 followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home in Ottawa. Masonic rites by Marseilles Lodge #417 A.F. & A.M. will be conducted at 6:45 p.m.

Everett was born Feb. 4, 1937 in Ottawa to Howard and Dorothy (Eastergord) Olmstead. Wilma was born Sept. 10, 1939 in Mendota to Howard and Wenona (Peve) Whipple. They were married on May 22, 1960 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mendota. 

Survivors include their daughters, LeAnne Meiners of Oglesby, Julie (Robert, Jr.) Hoover of Earlville and Wanda Rohl of Peru; grandchildren, Stephanie (Travis) Skul-Wassell, Cas (Amber Wheeler) Siler, Mason Kember, Austin Kember, Jacob Meiners, Clayton Olmstead and Tyler Rohl; and five great-grandchildren. Everett leaves a sister, Mavis (Donald) LeBeau of Mesa, Ariz. and Wilma leaves a sister, JoAnne (David) Sondgeroth of Mendota. 

Both were preceded in death by their parents.

Everett was a 1955 graduate of Serena High School. He was a member of Marseilles Masonic Lodge 417 and a past Worshipful Master of Freedom Lodge 194 AF&AM. Both were lifelong members of the Harding United Methodist Church. Everett proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a farmer and operated Olmstead Trucking and was an avid collector of John Deere toy tractors. Everett and Wilma were bus drivers for Community Unit District #2 for many years. Wilma had been employed as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Seneca and Ottawa and was a member of Job’s Council Bethel 52. Everett and Wilma dearly loved their family and will be deeply missed.
