UTICA – Starved Rock Lodge offers guide winter hikes on Saturdays and Sundays in December. The hike leaves the lodge at 11 a.m. Cost is $15 per person and includes the guided hike, snack, a bottle of water, backpack, voucher for a hot chocolate or coffee upon return and interesting facts along the way. Reservations are required; call (815) 220-7386.
Historic trolley tours are offered on the weekends, as well. Tours begin at 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Learn about the rich history and legends of Starved Rock State Park and Lodge. Travel to the Lock and Dam and the Starved Rock Visitors Center. Cost is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $8 for children. Reservations are recommended; call (815) 220-7386.
