The Mendota VFW Post 4079 Veterans Memorial Squad participates in the Veterans Day program at Veterans Park, downtown Mendota on Nov. 11. The ceremony honored and remembered veterans, both alive and deceased, for their commitment and service to our country. The program included introductions by Bill Hunt, Mendota City Council, Navy veteran; Presentation of Colors by the Mendota VFW Post 4079 Veterans Memorial Squad and American Legion Post 540; National Anthem and music selections by the Mendota High School Band; Pledge of Allegiance; invocation and benediction by Associate Pastor Jay Miller, Victory Baptist Church, Mendota; Veterans Day address by Kent Svendsen, U.S. Army Ret. and Pastor of Mendota First United Methodist Church; and Firing of Volley and Taps by Mendota VFW Post 4079 Veterans Memorial Squad.
