NORMAL – New Covenant Productions proudly presents The Beach Boys, coming to Illinois State University’s Braden Auditorium in Normal on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the Braden Auditorium box office, all Ticketmaster outlets and online at Ticketmaster.com.
This band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold out albums by the tens of millions. But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.
The Beach Boys continue to create and perform with the same bold imagination and style that marked their explosive debut over 50 years ago. Their 2013 Capitol Records release, Sounds of Summer (RIAA certified triple platinum with over three million in sales and climbing), and its companion The Warmth of the Sun marked a resurgence in Beach Boys interest that has again rocked the world.
The Beach Boys are led by founding member Mike Love (lead vocals/chief lyricist) and Beach Boy-vet Bruce Johnston (vocals/keyboards). Jeffrey Foskett (guitar/vocals), Brian Eichenburger (bass/vocals), Tim Bonhomme (keyboards/vocals), John Cowsill of The Cowsills (percussion /vocals) and Scott Totten (guitar/vocals) round out the band.
