UTICA - Starved Rock Lodge & Conference Center in Utica has announced special and ongoing events planned for July.

TOURS

Historic Trolley Tours: Monday at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., Tuesday thru Saturday at 3 p.m., Sunday at noon, 1:30 and 3 p.m., Starved Rock Lodge, Utica. Learn about the rich history and legends of Starved Rock State Park and Lodge. Travel to the Lock & Dam and the Starved Rock Visitors Center. Reservations recommended. Land and Water Cruise: Wednesdays and Fridays at 11 a.m., Starved Rock Lodge, Utica. Tour includes a hot lunch in the rustic Main Dining Room, a historic trolley ride and a leisurely 50-minute river cruise on the Belle of the Rock, an authentic paddlewheel boat. There is minimal walking on this tour. Reservations are recommended. Call (815) 220-7386 for prices and to book.

Visit a Canyon Tour: Sundays and Mondays at 10 a.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., Starved Rock Lodge, Utica. Enjoy a historic trolley ride with stops at Starved Rock State Park’s Visitor Center, the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center, a trip through historic downtown Utica and a scenic, guided walk to Council Overhang and Ottawa Canyon. The walk is less than a mile and will take about 45 minutes. Tour includes a Starved Rock map backpack, a snack and a bottle of water. This tour is not recommended for individuals with limited mobility. Canyon chosen may vary, depending on the weather and trail conditions. Reservations are recommended. THEATER

“Rick Lindy and the Wild One - Jukebox Legends” – Monday and Tuesday, July 17-18, 11:30 a.m., Starved Rock Lodge, Utica. This international touring band will perform original rock as well as classic retro rock of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Enjoy a musical time machine that will take you back to the days when Rock and Roll was young the radio waves were transmitting classic American Rock and Roll. Relive the sounds of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Beatles, Tom Jones and many other legendary performers! The matinee includes lunch and show. SPECIAL EVENTS – coming in August

“Paint and Wine” – Wednesday, Aug. 16, 5:30 p.m., Café at Starved Rock Lodge. Join the fun of creating your own work of art in one of Starved Rock’s Paint & Wine events.
