OTTAWA – The Ottawa Art League held its annual Town & Country Amateur Adult Art Show on May 13 at Jeremiah Joe Coffee in Ottawa. There were 22 artists showing their work in many media. The show was judged by Julie Jenkins, an artist and art educator teaching at Parkside School in Peru and instrumental in North Central Illinois Artworks. The Town & Country Show was sponsored by the Ottawa Art League and partially funded by Omni Arts. The show chairperson was Rebecca Simpson of Streator and the Vice President of the Ottawa Art League.
All entrants received blue, red, or white ribbons. All blue ribbon winners will be invited to participate in the State Town & Country Show in Champaign this fall. The League also awards rosette ribbons to the best four entries overall. Marcia Crosby of Sublette took the top honors for Best of Show with her oil painting “Red Pig.” First Place went to Rachael Brisbois for her graphite drawing entitled “Chessmaster.” Second Place went to Terry Kurylo for “Stippled Mermaid” done with colored sharpies. Third Place was awarded to Carol Crane for a graphite drawing entitled “Early Morning Rose.” The Ottawa Art League thanks all the participants and volunteers and congratulates the winners for an exceptional show this year.
