PAW PAW - The Paw Paw Village Board met on Dec. 9.
Board members learned that 135 people took part in the drive-through COVID testing that was conducted at the Community Center by the Lee County Health Department on Nov. 19.
Village Elections
Petitions are available for the April 6, 2021 Consolidated Election. Candidates can pick up and file their petitions with the Village Clerk at 362 Chicago Road in Paw Paw. Petitions are available for the positions of Village President (4-year term), three Village Trustees (4-year term), and one Village Trustee position (2-year unexpired term).
Petitions may be filed at the Village office on Dec. 14, 16, 17, 18 and 19 between 8 a.m. and noon and on Dec. 15 from 1:30-6 p.m. The last day to file a petition will be Monday, Dec. 21 by 6 p.m.
All candidates must reside within Paw Paw Village limits.
Library Trustees
Petitions for library trustee are available at the Paw Paw Public Library. Petitions may be filed Dec. 14-21 at the library during operating hours. Current library hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m.-noon. Any questions, please call the library at (815) 627-9396 or stop in.
Ordinance
The Village Board passed an ordinance that amended the serving/purchase time for alcohol from 10 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sundays.
