Katherine McLachlan and Kyle Rod will be united in marriage on Aug. 19 during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mendota.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Carol) McLachlan of Mendota, Mark Rod of LaMoille and Mr. and Mrs. Donald (Christine) Liesse of Dimmick.
The bride to be is a 2009 graduate of Mendota High School. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 2013 with a bachelor degree in crop science and in 2016 with a Master of Science in crop science. She is pursuing a PhD at the University of Kentucky in the Integrated Plant and Soil Science Program.
The future groom is a 2010 graduate of Mendota High School and a 2012 graduate of Illinois Central College. He is employed by Holland and Sons in Mendota as a diesel technician.
