Leland Legion cancels Memorial Day services

Posted

LELAND - American Legion Post 570 of Leland has announced the cancellation of its Memorial Day services this year. A press release from Post Commander Lance Brown stated that due to continued social distancing requirements, they believe it best to cancel public services but they encourage people to reflect on what this day really means within their own home.

“Memorial Day is a day to remember all of the veterans who have given their lives while serving our country and suffered and paid the ultimate sacrifice; they leave behind loving family members. Please remember your veterans as well. Every day should be treated as Veterans Day by thanking those who have served our country and continue to serve our community.

As always, the Legion is here in support of our veterans and community. If you need us during this trying time, please call the Legion Hall at (815) 495-2263 and someone will return your call as soon as possible.”
