OGLESBY – The LaSalle County Retired Teachers Association held an executive board meeting on March 25 at the Dickinson House in Oglesby.

Highlights of this Executive Board meeting include:

Members were informed of upcoming programs and the spring newsletter.

Discussion of unfinished business matters included: highlights from the February breakfast meeting, and printing and other distribution costs.

New Business matters discussed included: April General Membership meeting, approval of special LSCRTA subcommittees, IRTA membership brochure, IRTA special committee, IRTA state convention with silent auction at which their honoree is Donna Inman, LSCRTA representative to the Excellence in Education Banquet on May 2, the summer social meeting, newspaper articles relating to other IRTA units, and newsletter assembly.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming dates:

* The annual spring April General Meeting at Festivities Unlimited on Ottawa will be held on Monday. April 22. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the meeting beginning at 9 a.m. There is no lunch, but coffee and donuts will be available. TRS Director of Outreach Richard Frankenfeld and IRTA Benefits representative Nancy Kramer will be guest speakers. ROE superintendent Chris Dvorak will also speak. The $2 fee is payable at the restaurant.

* The summer social meeting will be on July 22.
