MENDOTA - A first-ever Illinois River Road Scenic Snaps Photo Contest was planned to inspire participants to explore the sites and scenery along our National Scenic Byway. Since the world is a bit different today - they are encouraging people to look through their saved photos from around the route to enter in the contest.
Individuals may submit any original photo featuring nature, history and (of course) the Illinois River for a chance to win $100 for first place, $50 for second place, $25 for third place and Illinois River Road merchandise. Once entrees are posted online, encourage your friends and family to vote for your photo. Entry deadline is May 22; must be 18 to enter.
Photos should reflect opportunities along the geographic boundaries of the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway (roughly defined from Ottawa in the north to Havana in the south).
