Graves-Hume Public Library announces upcoming events for kids & adults


Read with GiGi - Jan. 28

MENDOTA – Snuggle up with and good book and GiGi the Labradoodle at the Graves-Hume Public Library on Tuesday, Jan. 28 from 6:30-7:15 p.m. Bring or borrow a book from the library to read with GiGi, a therapy dog.

Registration is required for this program. Children must be in kindergarten or older.

GiGi will return to listen to children reading aloud on March 31.

Game Night - Jan. 28

MENDOTA – The Graves-Hume Public Library will host their next Game Night for adults and teens on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. Game Night is a great way to try new games, meet new people and have a great time. Bring your friends and have a blast trying new games and fun favorites.

Everyone is welcome to bring a favorite board game or modern card game for the group to try out. The games are just for fun - no experience is necessary.

Additional game nights will be held on Feb. 25, March 31, and April 28.

Family Fun Night - Jan. 30

MENDOTA – The Graves-Hume Public Library will host their next Family Fun Night on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. The evening will be packed with fun activities for all ages. Space is limited; registration is necessary.

This month’s theme is board games.

Upcoming Family Fun Nights are planned for Feb. 27, March 26, and April 23.

Family Outing -Feb. 1

MENDOTA – The Graves-Hume Public Library will host a program for families on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 12-12:45 p.m. This monthly event features a craft and pizza. Pizza is provided by Rosati’s of Mendota.

All ages are welcome to attend this family-friendly event. Sign up is required by calling the library at (815) 538-5142.

The next First Saturday Family Outing is scheduled for March 7.

Tween Pinterest Party - Feb. 5

MENDOTA – The Graves-Hume Public Library will host a Tween Pinterest Valentine’s Party on Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. This program is open to kids in grades 5-8. Space is limited; please register for this event.

Upcoming tween events: Library Iron Chef on March 4 and Fun Outdoor Games on April 1.
