PRINCETON - DNA tests will be the focus when the Bureau County Genealogical Society hosts a virtual presentation, “Genetic Genealogy – Beyond the Hype” on Thursday, Feb. 24. The public is invited to the free presentation via Zoom.
This will be an introductory DNA presentation. Speaker Glenn York will cover the basics of available tests and an overview of testing companies. He will discuss DNA inheritance and how these tests can be used in your genealogy research. Finally, he will provide suggestions on how to contact matches and collaborate in order to advance your genealogical research.
York is an avid genealogist with decades of research experience at numerous facilities across the United States. He has a bachelor’s degree in Social Science and a master’s degree in Telecommunications. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in genetic genealogy, and works with tests at all major testing companies.
