ANDERSON, Ind. - Gary Douglas Perkins, 64, of Anderson, Ind. passed away unexpectedly Sept. 24, 2017 at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2 at the Schwarz Funeral Home in Mendota with a dinner following.

Gary was born March 14, 1953 and adopted by his parents, William H. and Eileen (Nelson) Perkins in Decatur.

Survivors include four children, Janette (Aaron Anderson) Gallup, John (Rachel) Perkins, Michelle (Josh) McGuire and Mathew (Lindsey Hunt) Perkins; and six grandchildren, Anthony, Cameron, Daysi, Sophia, William and Hyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife, Romina Italia Mastro-Perkins.

Gary graduated from RB High School in Riverside/Brookfield in 1971. For most of his career he worked with his father at Howlett & Perkins as a legislative lobbyist. He was a loving son, father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren.
