ROCKFORD –– If you are looking for a fun, safe and not-too-scary Halloween celebration for youngsters, Discovery Center Museum is hosting a party for children on Friday, Oct. 26 from 6-9 p.m.
Spooky Science invites families to come in costume, bring their trick-or-treat bag and follow the map to find goodies galore in their exhibit spaces. Concoct gooey, glowing, globs of slime and make monstrous crafts. Meet some scientific heroes from beyond the grave. Engage in astonishing science that looks like magic, pick up a Nobel Prize, tromp through the park in the dark and more. Have a bone-tickling good time in a special science show geared for grownup ghouls, mid-sized monsters, and pint-sized poltergeists.
Admission is $10 per person for the general public; $5 per person for members. Admission will include all related activities. Parking is free at 711 N. Main Street. This event is sponsored by OSF HealthCare, Thermo Fisher Scientific, HMC Products, Sjostrom & Sons, and it is partially funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
