Mr. and Mrs. Eldon (Carolyn) Christin will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 25 with an open house hosted by their children at Mendota Bible Church from 1-4 p.m. Friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend.
Eldon Christin and the former Carolyn Reneau were married on Nov. 24, 1967 at the Prairie Queen Free Methodist Church in Wakita, Okla.
Before retirement, Mr. Christin worked for Motor Wheel Corporation in Mendota for 33 years and at Coronet Dodge in Peru for 13 years. Mrs. Christin has been a homemaker for many years and was also employed at Mendota Lutheran Home and Vita Tone Cleaners.
They are the parents of four children, Norman (Melody) Christin, of Newton, Kansas; Alvin (Ruth) Christin of Morrison; Jeremy (Amy) Gibson of Lincoln; and Steve (Kinsey) Christin of Davenport, Iowa.
They have fifteen grandchildren: Robert, Abbie, Emma, Cohen, Levi, Kara, Allie, Tira, Jacob, and Calvin Christin; and Isaac, Livia, Leah, Josiah, and Susanna Gibson.
