Children’s events announced at library

MENDOTA – The Graves-Hume Library’s Children’s Department will be hosting the following events during the month of October:

A tween program for grades 5-8 will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 3:30-5 p.m. Create spooky Halloween luminaries. Sign up is required.

Shake, Rattle & Read is for babies and toddlers, ages birth-2 to enjoy with their caregivers. Pre-K siblings are also welcome. Shake, Rattle & Read offers stories, dancing, playtime and much more. An evening session will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5 from 6-7 p.m. Morning sessions are set for Tuesday, Oct. 10 and Oct. 24 from 10-11 a.m. No sign up is necessary.

Lego Club for children in grades 1-4 will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The library will supply the Legos; you bring your imagination. Sign up is required for this popular program, due to limited space.

Small Fries is a brand-new program for children ages 3-K that includes a story hour and cooking club. Small Fries will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Sign up is necessary.

An after school movie will be shown on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 3:30-5:40 p.m. “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” will be shown. Registration is needed to know how much popcorn to pop! Children age 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 

“BOO! Halloween Story Hour” for children ages 3-K will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. This event will include stories, crafts, and other spooky fun. Wear your costume! Registration is necessary because space is limited.

To end the month, “FunFamilyTime” with Halloween activities for the whole family will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26 from 6:60-7:30 p.m. Registration is necessary, due to limited space.
