America’s Top Dog Model announces local contest winner

Posted

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Winners of the Hollywood Paws, 14th annual America’s Top Dog Model Contest were recently announced. Marvelous Missie of Mendota was named national contest winner.

The theme for the 2018 contest was “Hollywood Paws.”

As the America’s Top Dog Model organization focused on influencers for this year, they sought to identify aspiring canine models, while embracing its contest mission – to celebrate dogs that make a difference in people’s lives.

America’s Top Dog Model 2018 winner and finalists were selected for their winning style, star qualities, training, charities, and best thought out photographic portrayal of the contest theme “Hollywood Paws.”

The contest ran from Jan. 12 through April 30.

Congratulations go to national contest winner Marvelous Missie, a Boston Terrier from Mendota. Missie was rescued from a shelter in Tennessee by Karen Keefe. She started school right away and graduated with all of her AKC Canine Good Citizen Awards before she was one year old. Missie gives back to the community by participating at the Starved Rock Kennel Club PAWS for Reading Program and she also visits residents at Mendota Heritage Health. She enjoys posing for pictures and runway modeling.

Missie’s prizes include the Cover of America’s Top Dog Model Calendar, winning story in “Pet Product News International,” model management and career coaching with America’s Top Dog Model founder Jo Jo Harder, Hollywood style couture ensemble from Yvette Ruta and Hayleys Hats, original watercolor of winning photo from Connie Benwitt Art, a tiara and signature wear from America’s Top Dog Model, Pawz Dog Boots and Max Wax, and an autographed copy of “How to Become a Top Dog Model.”

Finalists included Mylie Lirue, Benny, Magi, Suri, Nikko, Royal, Lola, Rosina, Bella, Harley, and Fifi.
