MENDOTA - Gary and Wanda Kunz of Mendota will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 31. The couple was married on July 31, 1971 in Pekin.
Gary and Wanda are the parents of three children, Jennifer (Darren) Vandermyde of Eureka, Matthew (Stephanie) Kunz of Mendota, and Julie (Zachary) Birky of Washington. They have seven grandchildren, Joshua, Isaac, and Ethan Vandermyde; Abigail and Hannah Kunz; and Evan and Aaron Birky.
The couple owns Kunz Engineering Inc. Previous to starting the business, Gary worked for 20 years at HCC. Wanda previously worked at First State Bank and for Dr. Schuler.
A celebration open house will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1 at the Mendota Bible Church.
