Winter weather hits area

MENDOTA – All means of snow removal, from a City of Mendota plow to a snow blower to a shovel, have been used in the last week as the area saw 2020 go out and 2021 come in with the first measurable snowfalls of the winter season.

A mixture of snow and ice put down three to four inches of precipitation during the final week of last year, and then back-to-back snowfalls of about two inches each welcomed in the new year.

The Mendota area looks like it will be getting a break from the white stuff over the next 10 days with no snow in the forecast, but with temperatures hovering at or slightly below freezing, the snow that has already fallen will likely be sticking around for a while.
