LA SALLE - The LaSalle Public Library will virtually host experienced mountain hiker, environmental steward, and naturalist instructor, Emily Kenny, when she presents, “Mt. Rainier: Best Laid Plans” on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m.
Dream adventure? That is what we would all hope and plan for if we were going to hike Mt. Rainier. And so were the circumstances when Emily Kenny set out on the iconic Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier, in the summer of 2019. What transpired was unexpected and memorable. Find out how careful planning and a straight-forward trip became a windy, twisty journey in this one-of-a-kind travel adventure.
Kenny is the COO of Multidisciplinary Education for the Environment (ME4E). She has a degree in Environmental Studies from Cornell College and has studied on three different continents. She also works in a public library leading regular STEM programs. When not working, Kenny is a foster mom for a pet rescue and a volunteer for a forest preserve district. Her 2020 travel plans were derailed due to Covid-19, but she is taking suggestions for 2021.
