LA SALLE - Spend the morning learning and having fun at a Make & Take Apple Pie Filling’ class presented by the University of Illinois Extension serving Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall and Putnam counties. The class will take place from 8:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the Extension’s Education Center & Community Teaching Kitchen in LaSalle.
Susan Glassman, Nutrition and Wellness Educator, will provide instruction on using a water-bath canner and canning safely. Gain hands-on experience as the class washes, peels, chops, measures, cooks and processes apple pie filling. Participants will be able to take home a jar along with recipes to enjoy.
This class is for all levels - beginners to seasoned preservers. A $15 fee will cover the cost of all supplies, just bring yourself. Class size is limited to eight.
