PLANO – The Mendota Trojans will participate in the 60th annual Plano Varsity Christmas Classic on Dec. 27-30.

There are 16 teams in the tournament with seeds awarded to the top eight teams. Unseeded Mendota will begin tournament action against No. 3 seed LaSalle-Peru on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 3:30 p.m. If the Trojans win their first-round game, they will advance to the winner’s bracket to play either Aurora Marmion or Oregon at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 28. A first-round loss will bump Mendota to the loser’s bracket for a 12:30 p.m. contest on Dec. 28.

The tournament will continue with eight games on Dec. 29 and the finals on Dec. 30.

Kaneland is the top seed in the tournament, followed by Burlington Central, LaSalle-Peru, Northridge Prep, Streator, Marmion, Morris and Hinckley-Big Rock.
