MENDOTA - Graves-Hume Public Library is set to begin their Summer Reading Club 2021 “Dig Deeper: Read, Investigate and Discover” next month. All funds raised for this year’s program were spent paying for programs, program materials, craft supplies, giveaway books and other prizes and snacks.

Each participant will earn prizes thanks to the following participants:

American Legion, Black Bros. Co., Caseys, City of Mendota Mayor David Boelk and members of the City Council, Culvers, David M. Kaleel, Edward Jones, Financial Plus Credit Union, First Federal Savings Bank, First State Bank, Friends of the Library, McDonalds, Mauch Carpentry, Mendota Elks: B.P.O.E #1212, Mendota Lions Club, Mendota Fire Department, Mendota Optimist Club, Meriden Grain, Nightengales, Peggie Reddick, Pizzas by Marchelloni, Prairie State Tractor/Holland & Sons, Stewart Tax & Accounting of Peru, Subway, Sullivans, V.F.W. Post 4079, and Ziggie’s Family Room Restaurant.

A few organizations paid for specific programs or program materials including:

Optimist Club - Week 1: S.O.A.R Live Bird Program

Meriden Grain - Week 2: Butterfly Enclosures and Worm Program

Friends of the Library and Mendota Fire Department - Week 3: Squirt Guns/pool noodles materials and MFD donated their time

Sullivan’s - Week 4: Storywalk and ice cream treats

Nightengales - Weekly book giveaway for all children

Mayor Boelk and members of City Council - Weekly programs and supplies.
