LA SALLE - Auditions for Stage 212’s Children’s Theater production, “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” will take place on Friday, June 9 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 10 at 1 p.m. (attend one). Try outs will be held at the theater, 700 First St., downtown LaSalle. “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” is a full production by kids, for kids and is open to all children entering grades 4 through 10.
Director Reid Tomasson will cast approximately 30 children in a variety of lead and supporting roles. Kids will be taught a song, a few dance steps and will do a reading from the script. No advance preparation is necessary, but kids should come dressed to move. Flip-flops are strongly discouraged. Those auditioning should bring a calendar with all of their summer conflicts.
Rehearsals for “The Little Mermaid, Jr.” will be held every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 2–4 p.m. Performances will be on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 11–13. For more information, visit Stage 212 online at www.stage212.org, on Facebook or call (815) 224-3025.
“The Little Mermaid, Jr.” is partially funded by OmniArts and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
