PERU - Since the announcement of the affiliation in January, St. Margaret’s Health has been conducting a thorough assessment of its clinical programs. Based on that assessment, it has been determined that St. Margaret’s will consolidate its obstetrical services to the St. Margaret’s Health-Peru campus.
St. Margaret’s intends to file an application in late October with the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board, to discontinue the obstetrics category of service at its Spring Valley campus. The review board is expected to consider the application in mid-December.
If the application is approved, the consolidation will occur within 60 days. This consolidation will allow St. Margaret’s to combine its excellent obstetrical services to one location, while enabling more efficient utilization of resources and improvement of the organization’s financial health.
