MENDOTA – Rolly and Pat Smith of Mendota will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 29, 2021.

Rolin Smith and Patricia Dean were united in marriage at Holy Cross Church in 1971 by Father Karl. Their attendants were Tom Schmitt and Rae Rodefer.

They are the parents of Jenny (David) Boelk of Mendota, Jeff of DeKalb and Julie of Mendota.

They are the proud grandparents of Madisyn, Macey, Myah and Marlie Boelk of Mendota; Isabelle, Isaac and Isaiah Smith of DeKalb; and Dawson and Maddux McPheeters of Mendota.

Before retiring in 2007, Rolly worked for Skelgas and Pat worked for R.R. Donnelley and then retired from LKCS in 2012.

They enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, gardening and relaxing outside in the nice weather. They love to travel, spending many years going on cruises with a close group of friends and for the past 10 years have been spending their winters in Florida.

They will celebrate their anniversary with an adult dinner out with their children and then a pool party with their children and grandchildren. The family hopes to have a celebration with friends later on in the year.
