Paw Paw board approves projects

PAW PAW - The Paw Paw Village Board met on March 10 and discussed federal relief funds, state grant money, branch removal and spring cleaning.

Funds were received by the Village from the Federal Government for COVID-19 relief due to loss of revenue. This money will be put into the Water & Sewer account.

Rebuild Illinois grant money that the Village will receive in full by 2023 will be used to help fund the street resurfacing project that is scheduled for this spring.

Large limbs and branches blown down during winter storms will be picked up by the Village. Those with large branches needing to be picked up are asked to please place them in a neat pile parallel to the street between the sidewalk and curb in front of your home. The Village will also conduct park clean-up to remove downed sticks and brush, and once warmer weather arrives, sidewalk repairs will recommence.

A town-wide garage sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 17. The Village clean-up pick-up days will take place on Monday and Tuesday, April 19-20. No electronics will be picked up.

Constellation Energy has been contracted to supply electricity to the Village street lights.

Blood Drive

The students who sponsored the Red Cross Blood drive on March 4 give a huge shout-out to everyone who donated that day. There were 36 units collected, which can save 108 lives, and beat the past record of 34 units donated. The next blood drive will be held on Thursday, April 29 at the Paw Paw School.
