MENDOTA - Summer Reading Club “Dig Deeper: Read. Investigate. Discover” 2021 is opening their doors to outdoor programming for residents and card holders of Graves-Hume Public Library in Mendota. This program is available for all age levels from babies-8th grade for the Youth Services division and high school-adults for the Adult division.
The library will host a shorter version of programming to limit exposure and encourage socially distant activities. The library will host various activities outdoors in their back lot for the youth. Each week children will take home craft items that correlated with their topic for that week and a yummy treat. As always, the requirements are simply to read books and track your minutes for a chance at the grand prize awarded to every group: Shake Rattle & Read (babies-2 years old), Small Fries (3 years old-kindergarten), Grades 1-4, Grades 5-8 and High School/Adult.
Summer reading will be held through the month of July, beginning the week of July 5 and completing the week of July 26. To register your child or yourself, you must visit the library between June 7-June 19. This program is free. Once registered, you will receive a registration bag complete with program schedule and small prizes. Any questions, please call the library at (815) 538-5142.
