MENDOTA - Operation Elf Action, under the guidance of the Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, is making plans for this year’s campaign. The Ambassadors are asking area residents to help by selecting children’s names from the “Elves” that are now set up at Midland States Bank, Eureka Savings Bank, First State Bank Main Bank, First State Bank Plaza North, First Federal Savings Bank, Financial Plus Credit Union, and H. F. Gehant Bank in West Brooklyn.
The name tags are located with each Elf and will include the gender and size of the child as a guide when shopping. Shoppers are asked to spend a maximum of $25 on each child. Those who wish to spend more are asked to please choose more than one child.
When choosing a tag with a child’s name on it, be sure to register it with the bank receptionist. Use the tag as the gift tag on your package, so the committee can identify it. Then, bring your wrapped gifts to Eureka Savings Bank, 1300 13th Ave., Mendota by 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6.
Gifts will be distributed to families on Saturday, Dec. 14, just in time for Christmas.
