Morris Anderson


LAKELAND, Fla. - Morris Anderson, 92, of Lakeland, Fla., formerly of LaMoille, passed away peacefully Dec. 14, 2020 at the Arbor Oaks Assisted Living facility.

Cremation and burial rites have been accorded and Morris has been laid to rest with his wife at the Greenfield Cemetery in LaMoille.

Morris was born Nov. 16, 1928 in Long Point to Russell and Edna Anderson. He married Lois Jean Kopp. She preceded him in death on Nov. 30, 2000.

Survivors include three children, Vickie (Dave) Geuther of Lenoir City Tenn., Bill (Lisa) Anderson of Trinity, Fla. and Sharon (Jim) Cook of Lakeland, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Morris grew up on a farm in LaMoille with his six brothers and sisters. He told countless stories about his life on the farm and the good times with his siblings. He attended grammar and high school in LaMoille, where he met his future wife. After graduating from high school, Morris served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, the couple returned to LaMoille to raise a family. They were both long time members of the First Baptist Church of LaMoille. Morris and Lois moved to Florida in 1981. He enjoyed the warm weather and spending time with his family. His hobbies included woodworking and doing puzzles.
