MENDOTA - Mildred B. Ulmer, 94 of Mendota passed away March 24, 2020 at Heritage Health, Mendota.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
Mildred was born Aug. 14, 1925 in Nashville Township, Minnesota to Clarence and Lura (Smith) Canon. She married Albert Ulmer on March 22, 1958. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 2008.
Survivors include one son, Peter (Donna) Ulmer-Canon of Santa Fe, N.M.; four daughters, Kristene Wilson of West Chester, Ohio, Rebecca (Milt) Olson of Mendota, Ann (Alan) Kok of Beulah, N.D. and Amy Ulmer of Lacrosse, Wis.; 10 grandchildren, Kathi, Matt, Mitch, Kara, Andrew, Amber, Brandon, Ryan, Kali and Lani; 12 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jessi, Trevor, Alex, Chloe, Zain, Annika, Wyatt, Hannah, Brecken, Hailey and Koa; one sister, Gloria (Richard) Fish of Harlingen, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son-in-law, Phillip Wilson on Dec. 30, 2012; two sisters, Margaret Swenson and Corrine Canon; and one brother, Neal Canon.
Mildred was a 1943 graduate of Truman High School in Truman, Minn. She attended medical technology school in Minneapolis, graduating in 1955. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis for a number of years. She was of the Methodist faith.
