MENDOTA - The 2019 Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Illinois came through Mendota on June 5. During the Torch Run, law enforcement members carry the “Flame of Hope” used during the Special Olympics opening ceremonies. Taking part in the Mendota leg of the run are, front row left to right, Patrolman Lucas Kammerer and Patrolman Daniel Hernandez of the Mendota Police Department and Detective Sergeant Jason Martin of the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Department; back row, Patrolman Zachary Urbanski and Chief of Police Greg Kellen, both of the Mendota Police Department.
