Mendota First Presbyterian supports Change for Life Campaign

Posted

MENDOTA - In recent years, First Presbyterian Church has raised money for Abigail Women’s Center through their Change for Life Baby Bottle Campaign. This has typically been the church’s mission giving focus between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and this year is taking place in June.

Abigail Women’s Center is a pregnancy resource center that provides for women in crisis pregnancies and assists them in choosing life for their babies. The center provides counseling, testing, and educational classes with an emphasis on Christian beliefs. Abigail’s also has a Baby Boutique, which allows women to shop for clothing, equipment and supplies.

Each year, Abigail Women’s Center serves anywhere from 450-650 clients and they depend on the Change for Life campaign for 25-30 percent of their budgeted income.

Anyone who would like a bottle to collect change and support this mission is asked to send a message to Ann Goy, Mission Chair, at (815) 830-3691 and she will be happy to drop one off at their home. Donations may also be made by sending a check to First Presbyterian Church and designating Abigail’s in the memo or sending directly to Abigail Women’s Center, P.O. Box 28, Mendota, IL 61342. Abigail’s website [abigailwomenscenter.com] also has on online giving option.
