MENDOTA – Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Darlene) Meisel of Mendota will be celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary with a card shower.

Harold Meisel and the former Darlene Rod were married on July 6, 1946 in the parsonage of Mendota Lutheran Church. The Rev. A.W. Engelbrecht officiated. Attendants included Donald and Kathryn Echelbarger, both now deceased.

The couple are the parents of three children, Janet (Rick) Close of Dalzell, Kevin (Joann) Meisel of Mendota and Darryl (Sandy) Meisel of Ottawa. They also have seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Meisel was a farmer in Dimmick Township before his retirement. Mrs. Meisel retired from school transportation for Dimmick Consolidated School.

The couple were volunteers for St. John’s Lutheran Church, Meals on Wheels and Mendota Area Senior Services.
